What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology helps your body to find its natural balance and optimal healing. It is a safe, gentle and non-invasive therapy using muscle testing to pinpoint and address the root health concerns. Kinesiology studies the person as a whole, as an interplay of body structure, body chemistry, emotions, spirituality and energy; to facilitate harmony overall.

How can it help me?

Kinesiologists use manual muscle testing to obtain feedback directly from your body. A muscle test involves you resisting a light pressure to a specific muscle which indicates your facilitation response rather than muscle strength. Muscle testing can help indicate where the blockage is carried in your system, what emotions and other stressors are present and what action would be most appropriate to restore balance. It may be of particular help for nutritional and sensitivity advice, muscle balancing for pain, body and brain function, achieving lifestyle balance and overcoming emotional roadblocks to goals and aspirations.

What can I expect in the clinic?

The first visit is longer and we discuss your personal health history, why you have come and the results you would like to achieve. You are the expert on ‘you’ and through muscle testing, the nature of your issue and appropriate corrective techniques are established.  These may include body therapies such as acupressure to stimulate qi (energy) and blood circulation, lymphatic massage, neurolinguistic techniques for behavioural change, stress release, nutritional support, allergy support and chakra balancing. Many people find a series of 2 to 6 treatments beneficial.

Touch for Health

Touch For Health is a fundamental and pioneering healing method for activating and ‘switching on’ the human body. It is designed to release pain and stress naturally using simple muscle testing feedback techniques to identify the sources of stress which lead to chronic pains, illness, mental fogginess and other related facets of diseases. Touch For Health will help hone in on key stressors and quickly helps one to identify the most effective means of correcting the imbalance. It may be described as a users guide or operating system for communicating directly with the human body. Touch For Health was written by Dr. John Thie and published in 1973. It is based directly on the Applied Kinesiology work of Dr. Goodheart as well as on Dr. Thie’s own experience while working with patients, taking what worked best for him and incorporating it into his book.

SIPS

SIPS is an acronym for Stress Indicator Point System. It is a revolutionary way of balancing the body electrics by specifically assessing muscles, tendons, ligaments of the joints and addressing emotions at the primary level. It has been described as the most innovative and powerful Kinesiology techniques to be developed in recent years. It was developed in 1992 by Ian Stubbings of Australia as a result of his desire to discover a more efficient way of balancing OF (Over Facilitated) and UF (Under Facilitated) muscles states.

Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA)

Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA) is an advanced system of kinesiology using the scientifically researched ‘Bi-digital O-ring’ technique. This university-proven energy testing technique has been shown in numerous research studies to be both reliably accurate and to generate reproducible results. QRA combines aspects of traditional Chinese therapy with the latest findings in bioenergetic therapy to help the practitioner gain insight into what the body may need to support healing. During a QRA session the practitioner tests key acupressure points on the body to determine a weak or strong bio-energetic response. A component of QRA is to be able to assess the energetic strength of supplements, medicines and foods specific to the client.

NAET

NAET® was discovered by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad in 1983. Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques, also known as NAET, are a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine.

One allergen is treated at a time. If you are not severely immune deficient, you may need just one treatment to desensitize one allergen. A person with mild to moderate amount of allergies may take about 15-20 office visits to desensitize 15-20 food and environmental allergens.

Basic essential nutrients are treated during the first few visits. Chemicals, environmental allergens, vaccinations, immunizations, etc. are treated after completing about ten basic essential nutrients. NAET can successfully alleviate adverse reactions to egg, milk, peanuts, penicillin, aspirin, mushrooms, shellfish, latex, grass, ragweed, flowers, perfume, animal dander, animal epithelial, make-up, chemicals, cigarette smoke, pathogens, heat, cold, other environmental agents. It may take several office visits to desensitize a severe allergen.

Neuro-Linguitic Kinesiology

NLK is unique in that it combines an adaptation of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques for counselling and change work, with the bodywork found in Kinesiology. NLP is a leading edge communication system evolved from the work of some of the world’s most successful therapists.

NLK also incorporates some of the most innovative developments in kinesiology related to testing the primitive and postural reflexes that have long been recognised by pediatricians and occupational therapists as crucial in the development of good learning behaviours.

NLK offers dynamic Mental Fitness Exercises which can be easily and effectively used in the classroom. NLK is designed to achieve improvement in a wide range of stress and health related problems. It also develops excellence in learning and performance skills.
